Ballistae.

Should have insanely slow reload, ofcourse. But yeah, something like that.

Quote:We tested the code and it seems like everything is OK. I think I'll add the ballista to the Mercenaries after some testing (and improvements). The module repository is located here: https://bitbucket.org/Homersapien/mercenaries-module Most of the code is isolated in mercenaries_scripts_devices.py

Well, i dunno what the final verdict on this was buuuuuuut HomerJay seems to be done and released it.

Besides, I still see all 3 types of cades, even tho all engineers "should" only use heavy cades. The explanation is, ofcourse, that they are more expensive, and require a higher lvl to use. The same would have to be true for the balllistae.
It could also be a stationary defense system on some (or all) swadian maps, to be used by either engineers only, or everyone. We all know that swadia makes good use of crossbows, it would only make sense for them to employ anti-infantry siege weaponry such as the ballistae Smile

I repeat: They should not be OP. And they would not have too - there are endless ways you could modify/nerf this feature and still have it be a great addition to the mod.

I'm starting to wonder how hard it would be to learn texturing and modelling :p even if the devs do not decide to use this thing, I would love to simply see it work in warband, somehow.

It's an interesting idea, as long as it's not "engineer only". Why would you want to be a medic if you could fire that thing? :p

well, if it WAS an engi-item (another tier4 one) then, ofcourse, medic would need something too Smile

Self-heals, anyone?

I like this idea but I think it would be better if it might be already placed in map that everyone could use to beat invading Nords.

Aye, that is my favorit concept too. Just seems... most stable, in the long run. Also, that way, the devs have control over WHERE they are placed, through map-making. Ballistae could easily become Glitchstaes, if left un-controlled.

Love it. And understand it'd have to have limitations as discussed above.

I remember quite  a bit back playing a Mount and Blade Mod with a working player useable catapult, which was fun, if the physics were a little off.

Well we shall have a look into it and see what we think Smile

I offer you my eternal love, Hypernoma, just for looking into it.

Must admit, when I made this suggestion, I was not fully convinced that anyone would take notice: It's such a large thing to deal with, from the dev's perspective.
