I will give you a tip start with something simple like this

Added simple medic box.
It needs a bit of work but i wonder if improved it'd look alright to be implemented. The idea is the better med boxes wont look as cheap.

I like it, but the texture indeed needs some work. The texture is very unorganized and the color / value goes from white stripes to black stripes to wavy deep browns and light brown streaks. The grain that typically defines wood is almost lost in the complexity of the colors. The texture itself is usable, but not by this model - the wood texture gives the opposite feeling of simplicity. To fix this, assuming you are using something akin to paint.net, try messing with the texture's levels to bring all the colors / values much closer together. If that doesn't work, try a new texture that is much simpler in style, color, and has no planks already cut into the texture.

The red plus symbol is nice, but it doesnt stand out very much as it meshes with the wood color. Try using just a standard layer instead of Overlay or Multiply, if thats whats making it blend in. This should also help it to appear more like paint.

The model is simple, but good. I like it. Hope this helps.
