New type of enemies

Since everybody got little bit tired of ragnarok runs (nothing new), i was thinking about new type of enemies for feature request for a very long time.
First of all these 2 enemies aimed for making game little bit more unpredictable and making new situations (which can either fun or frustrating).

      First type of enemies is Boss Bodyguards.
I love bosses how they are right now, however, almost all boss minions going straight to players and die before boss shows, and in this case just making boss defenseless against players, this type of enemy aimed for making sniping or melee'ing boss harder, since bodyguards wont go straight to players but will follow the boss to protect him from threat.

      Second type of enemies is Players themselves(aka deserters).
I really love potential of tricksters, they can teleport or get players dress, what if in random wave enemies will get 1-2 player enemies (bots) that will dress like players, but with more armor and improved damage for rag balance of course. He will get random players dress and his hero skills (and maybe class behavior?). But in order to choose one of player, server must hold 10+ players, and player must be hero class. Name of those enemies should be like "Swadian Legionnaire Deserter" or "Swadian Zweihander Deserter" and etc, or maybe even player nicknames. Those enemies can be bodyguards aswell! And maybe even type something in chat like we cant stop ragnarok and we should join nords army (not very often ofc, since chat would be flooded with their texts).

I think the first play may bring more variety and fun to our game play, we can change the previous Wonderland play, Perhaps there is a greater need for teamwork in the first mode.
In addition, I also like the setting of this unit, but feel that our old game may not be able to do such a smart system? But I support the first idea, which will expand the way we play the game.

I completely agree with this suggestion. Ragnarok definitely needs new challenges, and I think both of these ideas would be fantastic additions.
The concept of boss bodyguards is great. Currently, most boss minions charge straight at players and get eliminated before the boss even arrives, leaving it defenseless. Having bodyguards that stay close to the boss and actively protect it would make fights much more dynamic and strategic, making it harder to simply snipe or melee the boss without consequences.
As for the deserter bots, I find the idea very interesting and promising. However, I believe they shouldn’t be purely melee-focused to stay true to their intended purpose. Adding such enemies would introduce an unpredictable and engaging element to the gameplay, bringing back the challenge of being overwhelmed and even wiped out, something I personally miss from the past.

Overall, I’d love to see more difficult and unpredictable encounters added to the game. These suggestions would certainly make Ragnarok more exciting and refreshing.

I like both idea's, but I think it will be very frustrating when a hero Nord can spawn behind you like Tricksters and kill you before you can even respond (when having a ranged weapon in your hands, and since they might be able to 1 hit you with the boosted hero stats). Maybe a chat warning as you mentioned or a sound warning indicating they will spawn would be a nice balance to it.

Bodyguards are interesting, but I think they will still be able to be killed pretty quickly / early if people just focus on it while the boss is at a distance. You could also consider 'reïnforcement' troops that will spawn when the boss is half health or the last survivor. Maybe even have them spawn on the boss itself like Tricksters.

Hero Nords not meant to spawn behind players like trickster, just spawn like normal bot, but with players outfit to demoralize, to show that not all swadians have courage to fight nords

I think it would be great if players could join the Nord faction and fight against their former allies. However, this should have limits to keep the game balanced.

It Should Be a Special Choice:

Players can join as a "Nord Mercenary."
This choice should be permanent or have a long cooldown to prevent constant switching between sides.
Limited Number of Nord Players:

For balance, a maximum of 1-2 players per match should be allowed to join the Nord side.
Different Gameplay Mechanics:

Nord players should not be revived like normal players—they should respawn only in the next wave.
They could have special abilities or unique armor, but they shouldn't be overpowered.

A Balanced Reward System:

Players who join the Nord side should not earn normal loot.
However, if they survive long enough or defeat players, they could earn extra gold or XP as a reward.

Progression Requirements:

Only players who reach a certain level (e.g., level 39+) should be able to join the Nord faction.
Alternatively, this feature could be unlocked after completing a special quest line.

I like your idea, but it probably impossible with our current pve system, and i think this kind of pvp may plant seed of toxicity in our good community.

I like your idea, but it probably impossible with our current pve system, and i think this kind of pvp may plant seed of toxicity in our good community.

I totally understand your concerns, and you’re right that implementing this in the current PvE system would be quite difficult. However, if there was ever a chance for a new game mode or an event-based system, it could be a fun and controlled way to introduce a PvP aspect without disrupting the main experience.

As for toxicity, I think that’s a valid concern. But with proper rules and limitations, it could be kept under control. Maybe if it was more of a structured, opt-in mode rather than something that affects normal runs, it wouldn’t harm the community spirit.

That said, I really appreciate your perspective! It’s always good to think about potential downsides too.

I haven't committed on this as been waiting for Malong to say if this has been suggested before? Idk I have a feeling it has or something similar? Could be wrong I'm talking 10 years or so ago if so

While I'm for it in theory I'm less confidence this would get in vs many things suggested recently hmm... at least in the way you described it

Making new bots from the ground up is harder then just buffing existing ones that would give a similar effect. Imagine if the bodyguards had the same name in game and same armour so you couldn't tell them apart easily

That's less work and adds a level of difficulty that can be a variable in this harder rag people seem to want at this point. Even if like (example) 2 out of the 20 bots have significantly more armour and more damage 

Maybe they just have unique weapons to tell them apart from the normal ones

After doing a lot of suggestions over the years here ask for the smallest things possible with the biggest impact if you actually want them to happen

At that point just add thor odin and their bodyguards as melee only prolly would be easier and maybe make some problems to defeat them But if u want real challenge make new ragnarok invasion with no tomes barrels
