I'm well aware that maybe I should've put this into Feature Requests, but it is more of an already existing issue rather than a new idea.
Let me start out by showing you this:
(Everyone can go ahead and check the Recent Loot page on the website for themselves.)
What you can see here is a total of 61 "legendary" items dropped in roughly a week. (Another one dropped as I was typing out this thread, which proves my point exactly.) In this case, that's more than 220 essence. Now, I don't want to say anything about the system being unbalanced/unfair, that's a whole nother story, but the sheer amount of "legendary" items in the game is ridiculous. How is it supposed to feel special to someone to loot a Heraldic Plate if two other people loot it too on the very same day?
The answer: It doesn't feel special. It doesn't feel rare. It doesn't feel like something big.
My take is, there shouldn't be a single fully upgraded "best-in-slot" set in the first place, because it completely breaks the game. A set should consist of mostly house-crafted items with the occasional legendary item here and there. It's not like the house-crafted items are bad either, they're completely fine for rag, the only issue is that they feel like absolute garbage, because a better version of them (that you can upgrade even further, but that's a whole different problem altogether) drops at least once a week.
I've got no idea how this broken loot system works exactly, but there has to be a way to decrease the amount of drops. The rumors about drop chances being "1 in 50.000" or "10 in 10.000.000" are obviously entirely wrong; the probability of three (!) Heraldic Plates dropping on the same day is low, basically impossible if this had anything to do with regular percentages. So, divide the drop chance (if you can call it that) by at least 5 and give gold a new purpose, because right now it's almost useless, since you need a lot less phoenix feathers, relic fragments and orichalcum to upgrade stuff AND those mats are dropping regularly. Proof of this is the Auction Hall, seeing that the price of Legendary Dust has almost doubled within a few days, sitting at 500k now. This means that Legendary Essence is the new currency, since it has a use like gold used to, but I digress.
I know this might be really far-fetched, but there's a really good video about Clash Royale's legendary cards, which I always have to think about in this context, because I feel like it's the exact same here.

And with that I end my small lecture, have a good day!
