i just got told for being a failure at slashing and gettin everyone stabbed bigtime. :
the thing is that i often fail to attack in the right direction, it is mostly a gamble whether i cause an attack from above or the side. like i know i want to hit from the left but i can make a clean movement from the side and my char lifts the weapon to the top or whatever. i have set the attack direction to be directed by mouse movement and experimented with different settings, my ping is alright (around 30) and its not too choppy on my system. melee is alright but as soon as i have to be precise, fighting high lvl bots or precision slashing, everything is super messy. then i see other people just slashing for 10 minutes straight (fuuuun!) i wonder.

Use attack by movement keys, much easier for slashing in a shield wall.

Are you using a mouse or something silly?

normal optical mouse with a cable, nothing fancy. for slashing i have finally found out after i dont know how many hours of playing that its ok to just press the attack button to strike from above without even sliding the mouse as usual (
)
i still feel that somehow my mouse is wrong, i think it may be a connection of irritation of the optical sensor or slow system or im just to dumb to make virtual sword slashes and should go play outside with sticks and mud

the mouse is usually VERY sensitive, could be your problem
Roses are Red, Nuts are brown, Skirts go Up, Pants go Down, Body to Body, Skin to Skin, When it is Stiff, Stick it In, The Longer its In, The stronger it Gets, It goes in Dry, Comes out Wet, It comes out dripping, and it starts to Sag, Its not what you Think …its a Teabag xD

I just accidentally poured some water onto my mouse a few days ago, and while doing everything is fine, I notice a few idiosyncracies with it when I need to do certain things that require a fine touch. Coding for instance where I might find myself needing to hold down a button shows that the button remaining down is inconsistent. The function of the middle mouse button is hit and miss, the list goes on. I would suggest to try and borrow another mouse from someone that games and see if it is your particular mouse's problem rather than other things. If not, it might very well be your technique.

Aside from switching to use of movement keys for slashing, you could try re-positioning your mouse so that it is completely perpendicular with your body (meaning that when you move your mouse forward and away from your body, it is for an overhead swing, and when you move it toward your body it is for a stab). When using your mouse, you might actually be moving it while it is in a slanted position in relation to your body. And if you can confirm that that isn't your problem, then it'd be a good idea to see whether a different mouse makes a difference.

Just change attack direction to Movement keys and when your slash press w once you are slashing upward dont move at all and u should slash in the same direction (upward)
