I want to change my CDkey but i dont want to restart NI .....

 I was using the same CD key of one of my friend, because he wasn't playing MB. Now, he want to play again, thus I can not use this CDkey anymore. However i have a account in NI which is already 47. If i bought a new CDkey, will my account become redshirt? I m just wondering if there s a way i can change my CDkey and keep my account. Forgive my poor English= =
