XP & Gold for killing a horse

I used to get 10 xp + 10 gold, if I recall correctly, when killing a horse. When I upgraded to Sergeant, then I started getting 1 xp + 0 gold. I though it was related to the rank, but now I have been playing with a low level "alt". I killed someone else's horse and I got 1 xp + 0 gold as well.

Is it a bug?

I'm pretty sure it's a detergent from killing your own horse.

The XP/Gold you get from killing a horse has been altered on purpose. This is so you cannot loot from your own horses and to help avoid anyone from attacking there own team mates horse.
