Heavy lamellar armour vs Striped armour

I know striped armor has slightly higher stats but since oil is alot more expensive than dye would it be better to craft the former than the latter?

Depends if you're crafting for experience or if you're crafting it to be used.

I went for which looked better - The Heavy Lammellar (in my opinion).

Fewer people use it, making it "unique".  And it's about 50-60k cheaper.
