Looks like sulphur is sold out on the ah right now and hm is high, bad time to make or buy a barrel.

Walls are more useful anyways, just buy a wall or work on another class until you loot and can afford tosser.

I believe Guardian Armour is usable by Sharpshooter, so a good one if he can't afford Black Armour yet (not to mention Brigandine Plated Heraldic)...
