Dear NordInvasion Community!

I've played nordinvasion for a long time now, almost from the beginning.
In the beginning, the time of the Knights, my intention was to get as far as I could, we killed the Prince with a lot of luck, one time, I can remember, we got 'til Thor on Beach Assault and a bit later there has been a patch in which Swadian City was a very good map, you could solo Thor there as an archer. One time we got til Odin on Swadian City but we failed completely. We got 'til there because we had a resurrection tome and me as knight so we blocked the ways to our camping spot with many many horses and the enemies came one by one.
Legendaries only played a minor role in those times, the main goal was to get until the last wave, because it was something special.

After Knights had been removed, no team got really far, only on events sometimes and at one special patch one one special map: Great Hall. There Odin was defeated the first time as far as I know.
But the rest of the time we failed at Jotnes or Thor, something at those waves.
Here my intention was to get as far as I could and beat Odin or at least Thor if possible. It was still something special.

But nowadays I have to say that the only aim of many players is killing Odin and his horse as fast as possible, getting the chance of loot, joining another server with Fortress under Siege or Offshore and doing that another time and another time to get a legendary drop. Some players are lucky and find one or more, some other players aren't but that's not the point. Finishing the last wave of hard mode became too easy.

After a time doing this again and again becomes very boring and you are almost forced to do the same to keep up to the rest of the players. You just "farm" Odin's legendaries with no other reason except getting legendaries. I'm sure that's not just me.


My suggestions:

- nerf maps until they are comparable with the first version of the old swadian village (large open field only with a "bad" camping spot)
- improve the usefullness of barricades by increasing their hit points and armor protection and maybe add new kinds of them
- force us to build our own fortress with barricades
- increase the drop chance for legendaries on later waves in hard mode

    --- Make killing Odin something special again!


All these are my personal impressions of the current situation and my own opinions but I'm sure there are many other players who share my thoughts.

Please give me some feedback and post some custructive criticism to make these ideas realistic.

think you got a good point there, nowadys i don't rage if I die after last spawn because it's "too" easy

We had a very good run a few days ago on Outskirts.  At the end of wave 17 we only have 6 guys left, and the following waves were very intense.  At the end of wave 18 we had 5, and at the end of 19 we had 4.  Only four guys against the Prince and his escort.  It was an intense fight where we sound up only just barely managing to kill the Prince before he slaughtered us.  In the end I don't think we lost anyone that wave because of the teamwork and skill the remaining players displayed.  (I may like this war story more than I should because I lucked out and got Studded Gauntlets from the Prince ^_^).

That run was special and it was amazing, and I would love for more runs to be like it.  I don't like it when entire servers full of people leave to all cram into another server that has a "good" map so they can grind Odin some more -_-

I've had the pleasure of having a few very intense Prince runs these past few days in which we get past wave 17 with less than half of the people alive.  Sometimes we make it, usually we don't, and that is just the way I like it.

on a sidenote : back in the days , with no real campspots but amazing skills , where a commando or knight also got buffed stats, this mod was just hillarious. Although this changed, due to mainly the campspots and removing cav ofc, it IS still a ton of fun.

Removing the campspots nowadays would cause disorientation , flaming and much hatred.

To change the playstile at all , would cost tons of work from the dev - side , re-thinking from the playerbase and cav Smile (ofc not , but i still love my horse)

As much as i like this idea , i do not think the devs will do this.

I agree, it is most fun when You and a few other players join a map and You have to really work together to stay alive. Now many just joins and go afk near the shieldwall because they know that they most likely don't need to help to get to the later levels, especially in normal mode.

The tome and barrel takes away a lot of the fun in the game I think even if it is useful a lot of the time. Maybe one could limit them to 1 or 2 uses each per map. If I´m not mistaken they causes problems for the servers to stay stable too, so that would solve some crashing issues too maybe.

With the new housecrafting system and the new cades and other equipment I guess open maps would be a new way to go to further "force" teamplay. I would possibly also make it even more interesting to join a house because it will be the only way to gain access to the new equipment.

[/quote] So what else you suggest? Be honest, if we got 3 commando's in game, we most likely beat Nord Warlord (Atleast)
