Slayer's AIO Guide for Nord Invasion
Nord Invasion is a Mod for Mount and Blade warband. It involves a cooperative online multiplayer experience in which you along with some team mates slay some nords in hopes of defeating the final boss of each mode of Nord Invasion.
We will later go in-depth about the 3 different modes of Nord Invasion, along with the waves, bosses and all other things you could think about.
How to Install Nord Invasion
To install Nord Invasion, you simply have to go to www.nordinvasion.com and click download: http://prntscr.com/42zhgs
Afterward, you will be taken to a screen as thus: When entering this screen, note and remember the current version of Nord Invasion. The #1 box states this. Afterward, you have the selection of two different download types.
First Method (Recommended):
Box #2) You download a program that automatically connects to the Nord Invasion website and downloads all files and updates (including map updates) at the click of a button. If you have selected this path, go to -> C Drive -> Program Files -> Steam -> Steamapps -> Common -> Mount and blade Warband -> Modules. Once you are in the modules folder, place the NI Updater there: Open up the updater, it should look like this: Click the Language you wish to use and then click "OK!", Nord Invasion will then download Nord Invasion and any future updates at the click of a button.
Second Method:
Download the Zip file and extract the file to your Modules folder every time the mod updates.
First Time Playing
Start Mount and Blade Warband and select the Nord Invasion Module. After it has loaded up, create a character, click play and join a server. The server list will pop up, in your top right corner you will see the filter list, open it up and tick the box "Compatible with version".
Allow the server list to load, once it has completley loaded, click on each server and add them to your favourites list (You will need to do this for every character you create). Doing so will enable you to load the server lists much quicker and is highly benificial down the track.
How to activate your account:
On your first attempt on joinin a server, I reccomend you join an empty one. Once you have joined the server, immediatley hit "L". This brings up the server logs, you will notice something along the following: Before you actually start playing Nord Invasion, you will have to register your account, so pop over to www.nordinvasion.com again and you'll see this part: Click register, visit this part: type in your character name, activation code and password you desire.
Congratulations, you are now set to play Nord Invasion! Before I explain the first mode of the game (Normal mode), I'll show you around the website first. You will be using the Nord Invasion website for almost everything you do in the game.
The website:
The website is the control centre of your account, you do everything here, levelling up, buying items, equipping items, trading items, selling items, check your xp, equip weapons and armour, select your classes, everything.
Box 1) This is your character and gold pile. Your gold pile increases over time as you slay more nords and sell items.
Box 2) These are your stats, it may be slightly irrelevant at the moment, however your stats raise as you level up as your specialised character traits increase. Your level is your current level, you level up by gaining the correct amount of experience required to level up. Notice how it says Total xp: 0 and Next Level: 100, this means you need 100 xp to level up from level 1 -> 2. Each time you level up, you gain a class point, you need class points to go down the path of character that you choose.
Strength: Strength is what determines what weapons you can use. Each weapon has a difficulty and that difficulty represents the strength required to equip/pick up said weapon. Every time you level up strength, you gain 1 total hp. Swadians can have a maximum of 30 Strength. You can gain Strength by gaining Melee Experience.
Agility: Agility enables you to run slightly faster. Swadians can have a maximum of 30 Agility. You can gain Agility by gaining Ranged Experience.
Box 3) Assist xp (experience) is what you gain when you are in range of a fellow swadian who kills a Nord, when this happens, everyone who is in assist xp range (it is horizontal, not vertical range) gains a certain amount of assist experience (you will know how much you get as it will say it in the game). The (x0.5) is a modifier to the assist experience. Example, if you spend 1 assist experience in melee, you gain 0.5 melee xp as it is a half modifier. If you spend 2 assist experience in melee, you gain 1 melee xp as it is a half modifier.
Box 4) This is the section where you choose what weapons you equip etc. We will go over support slot later.
Box 5) These are your stats, they're not really relevant until later, but basically:
Proficiencies: Weapon proficiency is the skill you use for any weapon.
Increasing your proficiencies allows the character to deal more damage with a melee weapon, and use ranged weapons more accurately. It also improves the weapon's attack speed.
One Handed, Two Handed, Polearm, Archery, Crossbow and Throwing are all classed as Proficiencies.
Skills:
Box 6) Your player ID, this is used to recognise your account, it is used for inviting to houses mainly.
Box 7) Faction points can be gained through completing quests, you need Faction Points to start a House.
Here you can choose to go down 4 different paths. Archer, Infantry, Pikeman or Crossbowmen.
Typically, Archers are fast and nimble using the power of bows to their advantage, wearing light weight armour, they are good at shooting nords from a distance and can run away.
Typically, Infantry are slow but powerful using the strength of weapons such as the 2 handed sword or Morning star, wearing heavy armour, they are good at surviving and are close combat specialists.
Typically, Pikeman are a mix between archer and infantry more on the archer side, they specialise in throwing weapons and polearms, using light armour, they are good at throwing weapons at nords as well as slashing with a polearm, however they do not have the heavy armour bonus's that the infantry do, so be weary in close combat.
Typically, Crossbowmen are also a mix between archer and infantry more on the infantry side, they specialise in crossbows however have decent melee skills, using medium armour, they are good at shooting nords with powerful weapons and taking down bosses as well as capable of holding a place in the shield wall, however they are not as powerful as infantry in close combat.
Characterisation:
There are 5 different Tiers of characters. Along with these tiers of characters, you can get a support class, Engineer or Medic.
Tier 1: Archer, Infantry, Militia, Crossbowman, Nurse, Tinkerer
Tier 2: Longbowman, Heavy Infantry, Skirmisher, Heavy Crossbowmen, Apprentice, Medic
Tier 3: Heavy Longbowman, Sergeant, Heavy Skirmisher, Man at Arms, Engineer, Field Medic
Tier 4: Sniper, Commando, Pikeman, Sharpshooter, Seige Engineer, Master Surgeon
Here you can find useful information about the first 4 Tiers of Characters:

Completely Pointless Table of Contents:
- Tier and Item Progression
- Tips for General Usage
- Using Tomes
- Safety Precautions
Tier and Item Progression Back to the top
Tier 1: Nurse (requires level 7 costs 3,000 assist experience.)
Simple Medic Box - Heals allies for 20% within a 5 meter radius (3 charges)
Tier 2: Field Medic (requires level 20, costs 15,000 assist experience.)
Medic Box - Heals allies for 40% within a 10 meter radius (3 charges)
Tier 3: Field Surgeon (requires level 39, costs 50,000 assist experience.)
Surgeon's Kit - Heals allies for 100% within a 25 meter radius (1 charge)
Field Medic Box - Heals allies for 40% within a 10 meter radius (8 charges)
Tier 4: Master Surgeon (requires level 50, costs 150,000 assist experience.)
Master Surgeon's Kit - Heals allies for 100% within a 25 meter radius (3 charges)
Resurrection Tome - Has a chance of resurrecting fallen allies or summoning a deadly Wraith that will target allied players (1 charge)
Tips for General Usage Back to the top
- Support items, once spawned into the game, can be picked up by any player regardless of class or tier. A newly made character can pick up medic kits and use them to provide the team with heals.
- All support items are considered throwables. They do 5 blunt damage upon placement. As a result, they can be used to blow barrels and break barricades. Be mindful of where you use your support item.
- All medic items (with the exception of the resurrection tome) can be refilled by using the restore ammunition boxes or the shrine.
- You are able to heal your allies while refilling by left clicking while holding down F. By doing this, you can provide your team with a continuous stream of heals.
Using Tomes Back to the top
Because of the complexity of tomes, players have developed various safety measures and rules regarding use.- Make sure you are only holding one tome! If you have multiple tomes in your inventory, all of them will be used at once. The same applies to barricades of the same type.
- When to use a tome: In most cases, you will want to use a tome when there are fewer than five players alive on a full server. Before using a tome, make sure the player who brought the tome (hereafter known as "tomebringer") has died first so that another tome may be brought in. If there are multiple tomebringers, it is advised that all of them die before a tome is used so that one tome can give rise to multiple tomes.
- Toming for Barricades: To defeat the most difficult bosses, you will often be required to tome for barricades. In this case, wait for the tome-bringers and barricade-bringers to die and before toming.
Safety Precautions Back to the top- Wraith Cage: This method involves finding a corner and building a barricade in it while leaving enough room for the player to jump out and leave the confines of the barricade. The player then uses a tome with his back to the corner facing the barricade so that the wraith (if it spawns) will be trapped. The player can then either jump out of the barricade or, if he is well-equipped enough, turn around and kick/slash the wraith until it dies.
- Multiple Tome users: This method poses the risk of spawning two wraiths into the game, which may guarantee that the team wipes. To use this method, two players each need to pick up a tome. After acquiring a tome, the first (primary) tome user will run to a safe distance from the secondary tome user. If a wraith spawns, the secondary tome user will immediately use his tome.
Will need someone to provide the details on the surgeon's kit and master surgeon's kit. If I missed anything, feel free to post below and I will add it to the post. If any clarification is needed, ask below and I will try to answer to be best of my ability.
EDIT: Formatting. (14-07-2012, 04:11 AM)Jarold link Wrote: This topic is to arm people who do not know how to use Engineer items, what they look like, and things to know about them. Such as the Deployable Shield, the Barricade, the Heavy Barricade, and the Explosive Barrel.
I would like to say this is not really a guide, but more of a wiki type thing.
_______________________________________________________________________________
The Engineer
The engineer has the ability to aid his team by building fortifications, that keep the Nords in or out. Deploy ammo crates to make a more accessible refill for your ranged teammates. If you are so privileged to have an explosive barrel, or know someone who does you can blow up the nords. All engineer items ( deployable shield, barricade, heavy barricade, and explosive barrel.) are equipped in the support slot. There is only one "Engineer" item that can be equipped by medics or peasants, the deployable shield. You must be a certian level to see engineer items on the AH ( auction hall ) or equip a certian engineer item ( keep in mind you can pick up any engineer item off the ground ). Engineers cannot refill their barricades, deployable shields, heavy cades, small ammo crates, or explosive barrels ( unlike medic support items ).
All engineer items except for the dep shield are crafted by alchesmist. The dep shield is crafted by armorsmiths.
You can only see certian engineer items on the auction hall if you are the right tier.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Deployable Shield
The deployable shield, or commonly referred to as dep or dep shield. Is useable by ANYONE who can afford it. It is the weakest of the fortifications you can build, and provides the least coverage out of the three. It can be deployed instantly by equipping the dep shield and clicking the fire/swing button ( commonly, mouse 1/left mouse button ). It ill deploy a few inches infront of where your standing. Keep in mind you may not be able to deploy fortifications in certian places. To remedy this simply move around a little to get a spot where it will deploy at. It can be used to effictively block the nords, create a funnel, or block ranged enemy fire.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Small Ammo Crate
The small ammo crate is the first item to be unlocked by going engineer ( unlocked at Tinkerer ). It is instantly deployed upon equipping it and then pressing fire/swing button ( commonly, mouse 1/left mouse button ). After deploying it any ranged teammate can refill his or her arrows/bolts/medic boxes/thrwoing weapons. Keep in mind this box can only be used once by one player to refill, losing most of its potential.
________________________________________________________________________________
Barricade
The barricade, commonly reffered to as a cade, is the second item to be unlocked by the engineer ( tier 2, Apprentice ). This support item deploys a little differently from other engineer items. It has two stages of deployment. First you deploy the barricade as normal, like a deployable shield, instantly deploying it. It however is in a fragile useless state. It needs to be deployed by holding "F" when the screen reads "Deploy Barricade" . It is quite like healing yourself at soup. Which means it can be interrupted, so do not run over the wood pile or infront of a person staring at a barricade pile. After you have finished deploying the Barricade it covers a fairly wide area, and is fairly resistant to attack. A friendly tip is to not stand on these barricades, they're two reasons for this. One, if the barricade is destroyed when you are standing on top of it, you will die. Two, if you are standing on a barricade it will make the nords attack the cade even more then usual.
Barricades that are colliding are known to cause crashes if zoomed in on, while looking at it.
________________________________________________________________________________
Heavy Barricade
The Heavy Barricade, commonly referred to as h cade, heavy cade, or heavy, is the third item unlocked by the enginner ( tier 3, Engineer ). This support item deploys a little differently from other engineer items. It has two stages of deployment. First you deploy the heavy barricade as normal, like a deployable shield, instantly deploying it. It however is in a fragile useless state. It needs to be deployed by holding "F" when the screen reads "Deploy Barricade" . It is quite like healing yourself at soup. Which means it can be interrupted, so do not run over the wood pile or infront of a person staring at a barricade pile. It is a little more then twice the size of a normal barricade. It is ALOT thinner then the normal barricade, however that does not mean it is weaker. Being thinner it can be lined up easier without aking up as much space. It is a little less wide then the normal cade. It is very resistant to enemy attack.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Explosive Barrel
The Explosive Barrel, is the fourth item unlocked by the enginner ( tier 4, Siege Engineer ). It is equipped like a Small Ammo Crate, then deployed like a deployable shield. What this particular item does is either a gain or a loss ( I will explain how it can be a gain/loss later ). Once you've deployed the barrel, it sits in place till it is hit with an arrow/melee weapon/thrown object. When the barrel is hit, it explodes causing most nords to die in a large radius. When I say most nords, I mean some nords like Odin or Thor dont die from it ( I have seen this a few times personally, on a few occasions the barrel causes enemies to go invisible ). The barrel only effects bots/agents, not horses ( like Sleipnir ). The barrel can be exploded by enemies or players. The barrel kills nords, but gives no xp or loot in the process ( which is why its a gain or a loss ), but is useful for getting out of tight spots.
The explosive barrel is known to cause crashes. One remedy is to turn off casualty reports, it has worked for me.
The barrel does not work on elevated surfaces, but this is soon to be fixed.

Tier 5: Tier, 5 is different, this is where you become a hero class and you gain a bonus in a few areas of the specified choice. Each class has 3 different options:
Sniper -> Warden/Ranger/Sentinel
Commando -> Royal Guard/Zweihander/Legionare
Pikeman -> Halberdier/Master Peltast/Marauder
Sharpshooter -> Chosen Marksman/Pavise Champion/Adventurier

In this thread you will find the currently available hero classes, some tips on which to pick, recommended items, strategies, and advice on how to fully enjoy your fancy new hero class. Please note that this is an unfished guide. Some more information on Hybrid classes will be added in the future. Recommended items and what to do with them will be added as they come.
So, what is a hero class?
Hero classes are available to a character that has achieved tier 4, managed to level all the way up to level 52 for another 13 Class Points, and is willing to spend 750,000 gold on a large amount of new statistics and access to more powerful items. Hero classes were introduced to replace "Hybrids" which will also be covered in this thread.

(16-10-2013, 06:06 PM)Winter link Wrote: Hero Class Character Statistics Analysis
Zweihander
This class is obviously meant to excel at slashing. A two handed WPF increase of 40 created a ~4% increase in damage and a swing speed incrase of an approximate equivalent in 1.5 additional weapon speed stats. This class also gains a slight increase in One handed WPF (10) and a decent increase in Polearm (30). This means that if no good two handed weapons are available or you are using a two hander that is too short to be useful, you can pick up a polearm and still use it with some ability. There is also a decent Crossbow WPF increase of 65 and Throwing WPF increase of 40, meaning that on waves where the team completely barricades off, you can shoot crossbows faster if they are available, and if not still be able to decently aim and use throwing weapons. This class does not gain increased Ironflesh, but does get 1 Athletics to increase run speed. Please, please, please note that this class does get a Shield proficiency increase of 2, meaning you can still shield with the same ability as the Hybrid Commandos of old. Do not refuse to shield based on the fact that you are a Zweihander. That would make you an asshat.
Legionnaire
This hero class for Commando is the odd one out. Instead of focusing on shielding and slashing like Commandos traditionally have, this character gains a marked increase in both one hand and throwing ability. An impressive 50 increase in One handed WPF increases damage and speed by an approximate 5% and 2 swing speed points, respectively. A huge increase in Power throw (4) and Throwing WPF (150) makes this class have throwing abilities that can compete with a Tier 4 Pikeman. A quick comparison shows that the Legionnaire has 1 less Power throw and and 20 less Throwing WPF, leading to a ~12% loss of throwing damage and a moderate decrease in speed (roughly 5-10 Throwing Speed loss), meaning the Legionnaire can still easily use throwing weapons effectively. This class, like the Zweihander, gets an increase in Shielding of 2, which makes a total of 8 meaning this class can shield as effectively as the Hybrid Commandos of old. Legionnaires should almost always shield over anything other than a Royal Guard, as the throwing support it can offer is typically less useful than the powerful slashing of a Zweihander and the shooting of a Pavise Champion.
Royal Guard
This hero class is clearly meant to shield. An impressive increase of 4 to the Shield skill means another ~40% reduced damage over a normal Commando, and ~20% over fellow Hero and Hybrid Commandos. It should also be noted that it gains the same increases as Zweihander in Throwing, Polearm, and Crossbow WPF. The same conclusions can be drawn. This class also gets another point in Ironflesh, meant for an increase in sustainability of shielding.
Over All
Zweihanders are the expert slashers. Legionnaires can throw, slash, and shield with decent ability. Royal Guards shield like pros, but are still good slashers. Royal Guard is the better shielder, but Zweihander and Legionnaire also do a good job. Legionnaire can easily switch to throwing or slashing based on the needs of the team, whereas Zweihander and Royal Guard are more useful in the traditional positions of Commandos, slashing and shielding. In the situation that the team fully barricades off, the Legionnaire can easily throw quite well, but the Zweihander and Royal Guard would be more useful shooting with crossbows, but can use throwing if no crossbows are available. Legionnaires have a remarkable increase in One handed WPF as well as their throwing abilities.
Chosen Marksman
The idea for this hero class is pretty simple: higher Crossbow WPF for faster shooting. This hero class also gives a Power Strike increase of 1 (equal to ~8% damage in melee) and a decent Athletics and Shield increase of 2 each. To be as generic as possible, this class also gets the usual 50 One handed, 40 Two handed, and slightly higher 30 Polearm WPF (as compared to 25) boosts to make them more useful if they ever happen to be required to slash. Hopefully this is never the case.
Aventurier
Again, simple design. High One handed WPF (85 more, meaning an approximate 10% increase in damage and 3-4 weapon speed), moderate Two handed and Polearm increase for those "OH NO _________ ARE ALL DEAD AND I NEED TO GO SLASH!" moments. Unlike the other two Sharpshooter hero classes, however, this one gets a 3 Athletics boost (as compared to 2). This allows this hero to get around the base faster and use that one hand skill to the benefit of the team. Like Chosen Marksman, this class gets an additional 2 Shield, which could be useful if a shielder goes down and there aren't any to spare. This class also gets a Power strike increase of 2, as compared to the Chosen Marksman increase of 1, meaning this class can do a bit more melee damage. This fits in well with the One handed WPF increase.
Pavise Champion
This is the Royal Guard of Sharpshooters. An impressive increase of 5 Shield skill easily puts this class as the second best shielder in the game with an astounding total of 9 Shield skill, beat only by the 10 of Royal Guards. The generic One handed, Two handed, and Polearm WPF increases are still added, but this character is clearly more prepared to shield than use those weapons. This class also gets 2 more Ironflesh, as compared to the 1 increase in the other two Sharpshooter hero classes. This creates an increase in survivability that can mean the difference between a team wiping or holding through the wave as the Pavise Champion rushes in to take over shielding from an unfortunate Swadian.
Over All
Chosen Marksmen can reload faster, Aventuriers can use one handed weapons at a very high proficiency and get to be a little faster, and Pavise Champions have more survivability and a great ability to shield. Each of these classes also gets a generic increase in Two handed and Polearm WPF as well as 2 Power strike to allow for some slashing if completely necessary.
Warden
This speedy pew-pewer gets a neat increase of 55 Archery WPF, meaning faster draw speed and a good 6-7% more damage. A Power draw increase of 1 means this character can hold aim longer than other archers, a skill that can be useful in making very precise shots. The generic 50 One handed, 50 Two handed, and 25 Polearm, as usual, are present. A 2 increase in Power Strike means this class is much more effective at defending itself in melee than its non-hero predecessor. A measly 1 Shield increase reaffirms that this class should not need to shield. Ever. Never. Seriously. There is also an Atheletics increase of 2, which is useful for running away.
Ranger
This hero class is a beefy archer with a large increase in health, a whopping 4 Ironflesh. Athletics increase is sacraficed for this and brought down to 1, rather than the 2 the other Sniper hero classes get. It should also be noted that this class gets a Shield skill increase of 5, meaning it can pick up a shield from a fallen shielder and stem the tide of Nords entering the base. This class gets an odd 7 increase in Archery WPF. Very odd.... The generic increases of 50 One handed, 40 Two handed, and 25 Polearm are also present.
Sentinel
This hero class focuses on covering a weak spot of the Sniper class: melee damage. This class gets a whopping 120 One handed WPF increase, equal to around 17-20% more damage and ~4 weapon speed, but sacrafices the generic Two handed and Polearm WPF increases, getting 0 increase instead. This is most likely in place to keep this class from becoming an amazing slasher, as the next stat increase is 5 whole Power strike, which creates an approximate 40% melee damage! This class gets a moderate Ironflesh increase of 1 and the same Athletics increase of 2 as the Warden. It should be noted that this class does get a Shield skill increase of 4, meaning it can shield in dire situations. It should also be noted that this class gets no increase to Archery WPF, which is only slightly less than the Ranger.
Over All
Wardens are the only Sniper hero class to get a notable increase in Archery WPF and get an increase in Power draw. The Ranger is a beefy shooter with a decent Shield skill. The Sentinel focuses more on melee damage and sports a powerful one handed ability and a decent increase in Shield skill.
Halberdier
The Halberdier hero class gains the generic 50 One handed, 40 Two handed, and a slightly increased 30 Polearm (as compared to 25) WPF. This class also gets a typical 2 Power strike increase. This class's strong point is the Ironflesh and Shield gain, 3 and 3. It should be noted that though this class gains no Athletics, it is already at 8 which is faster than most other hero classes already. Disappointingly, this class gains no Power throw or Throwing WPF.
Master Peltast
This class, as the name suggests, has a focus on throwing. A beautiful 25 Throwing WPF (~3% damage and 1 speed more) and 1 Power throw (10% more throwing damage) definitely create this effect. The generic 50 One handed, 40 Two handed, and 25 Polearm increases are there. A decent and default Power strike increase of 2 and Ironflesh increase of 1 accompany this class. A fun 2 Athletics points make this tied for the fastest class in the game at a grand total of 10 Athletics. This class does get a Shield skill increase of 2, putting it at 6 Shield skill and allowing it to be the backup shielder in dire situations.
Marauder
The glass cannon of Pikeman hero classes, this class has an amazing 65 Polearm WPF increase (~5% more damage and 1-2 more speed) and 3 additional Power strike (24% more damage), making it a very powerful slasher. Other than the generic WPF increases and 2 Athletics, this class has no other stat increases.
Over All
The Halberdier is a decent slasher with an emphasis on survivability. It has a good Shield increase allowing it to shield when required. The Master Peltast emphasizes on throwing, but can clearly slash with ease as well. A small Shield skill increase allows it to shield in dire situations. The Marauder is a glass cannon of a slasher, focusing only on damage output and speed.

Commando
Zweihander
The Zweihander is obviously a slasher, so use it as such. If no Royal Guards, Legionnaires, or Pavise Champions are available or are more useful elsewhere, don't hesitate to be the shielder. You still get 8 Shield skill, use it. I recommend using lighter armor to allow for faster slashing, so consider wearing lighter boots or no boots at all. It is probably not the best idea to forgo better body or head armor for lighter weight, however, unless you are very sure you can go without being hit. Typically I would bring a two handed weapon and two shields so that if the shield wall does go down, I am more than capable of jumping in to fill the gap and still have a backup shield that I can either hold onto or give to another shielder. A one handed weapon is recommended in place of the second shield if you plan on drawing in or assaulting ranged Nords, however Huscarl shields or similar Nord shields can be picked up and used in most cases. It is also an option to bring a two handed hammer, a two handed sword, and a shield in order to either help outfit other slashers or allow some versatility in your own slashing. Weapons like the Bidenhander, Forlorn Hope, and Legacy are very long and do high damage, and weapons like the Heavy War Hammer and Stone Maul can be used for crushing heavier armored Nords with shorter weapons such as Huscarls and Jotnes.
Legionnaire
I strongly recommend getting Very Heavy Throwing Axes for this class, since in melee they draw from One handed WPF, rather than Polearm WPF like other throwing weapons. This allows the Legionnaire to make use of two of its special stats at once and lets it bring in two stacks of axes and a shield. If a slasher is killed, you can easily pick up their two hander or a two hander frome somewhere else and take over slashing, if necessary. Although I would recommend lighter armor on a Legionnaire for faster movement to areas where you are more needed and to close distance on Nords so you can use your one hander, I often find myself shielding so I go for heavier armor for higher survivability.
Royal Guard
This is the tanky Commando where it is recommended to go all out on armor. Get the heaviest, bulkiest, strongest stuff you can and stand between the Nords and your allies. Although Royal Shields are common and nice, Defender Shields are a much cheaper alternative with a much more manageable price tag. For the more dedicated Royal Guards, the Aegis Shield will often help. The most ambitious (or lucky) can make use of the Shield of Kings, a beast of a wooden shield that can be found from Odin.
Sharpshooter
Chosen Marksman
Clearly this class is meant to be better at shooting, but let's look at what the stat increases actually do. Very little, in all actuality. The magic of crossbows is that they do not gain higher damage based on WPF or some other stat, their damage is static. This makes them very useful for Commandos to use when melee is not an option to them. For the Chosen Marksman, however, it is a detriment as it means higher damage is not achieved simply be becoming this class. Sure, the crossbow reloads faster and is a little more accurate, but what most people want is more damage. This is granted in the form of the Elegant Crossbow and the Big Shot, two great crossbows. The Big Shot is the highest damage crossbow in the game at a whopping 140 pierce, 16 points higher than the legendary Penetrator! The Eastern Repeater is also available, so for those of you that loved the Repeater Crossbow, a fancy new upgrade is available.
Aventurier
I will admit, I found a little bit of trouble finding a way for this hero to be particularly useful in a group setting. The answer, however, is in the rare occasion that something with high armor manages to get into the base and is terrorizing the lower melee damage archers and crossbowmen. Instead of having parts of the shield wall disband to go save their ranged brethren, an Aventurier can make quick work of units including teleporting Nords like Royal Assassins and Tricksters and can be instrumental in killing slippery Nords that get through the shield wall like Followers of Vanagandr, Hati, and Skoll, Einherjars, and Beserkers of all sorts. On teleporting waves this class can also hang out behind the slashers and kill any that manage to teleport behind them, that way the slashers can remain focused on the shield wall. I recommend lighter armor and no shield to increase maneuverability, and a decent one handed weapon WITH SOME LENGTH like the Knights Sword, Hero's Mercy, or Fell Edge so that you can keep Nords stun locked. Sorry, Dragon Axe lovers, but it is too short to maintain stuns on most Nords.
Pavise Champion
This is a very enjoyable hero class, and access to that sexy and cheap Black Armor just make it that much better. You get more armor for much less in House Crafting, something that I believe is easily worth the 750k. This class is clearly meant to shield, but like all Sharpshooters it is used most effectively shooting. Shielding should only be done if there are no Royal Guards, Legionnaires, or Zweihanders are available, as the damage from the crossbow typically outclasses the damage either Commando class could do. An exception would be if the team was already very low on slashers, as then it would be dumb to make a slasher shield while someone continues shooting.
Sniper
Warden
It is an archer with higher Power draw and Archery WPF. Not much more to say there. Get better bows, shoot some more, get those fancy Elmwood or Ebony Arrows.
Ranger
This class is a bit more imaginate than the prior. With a large increase in hitpoints and access to heavier armor (note that you can now buy T3 Marketplace Infantry helmets), this class is great if you have issues staying alive as a squishy archer. Like other Sniper hero classes, this class gains access to Ebony/Elmwood Bows and Arrows. I personally like picking up a shield for use if the shielder goes down and no one else feels like stepping in. A Swadian Kite Shield will often work, as that will typically last through a partial wave, but feel free to grab a better shield if they are in abundance. Do not take shields that another class could use better. Do not try to force others to let you shield "for teh lulz." You are a backup shielder, not the star of the team that can run out there, kill a bunch of Nords outside of experience range, kite back to the shield wall, and then proceed to AFK through the rest of the wave shielding.
Sentinel
This is by far my favorite Sniper hero class. Like the Aventurier, it may seem useful as it does not gain an increase in the typical use of the class, but do not be mistaken. This class is absolutly astounding against assassin type Nords and Nords that manage to slip into the base. Since archers are so commonly used for kiting, it should also be noted that this class, if using a good weapon like the Knight's Sword, Illustrious, or Fell Edge, can stun lock Nords with ease and kill them rather quickly. I have noticed with my Fell Edge I can often swing, hit a shield, and swing again immidiately after without blocking and still hit the Nord before his weapon can hit me. Speed like that is beautiful. It is also great for taking out a boss unit that managed to catch up with you for whatever reason, as you can now do enough damage to get through that tough shell of armor.
Pikeman
Halberdier
The Ironflesh increase and access to heavier armor like the Heraldic Halberdier Mail and Heraldic Master Halberdier Mail greatly increase this class's survivability. Feel free to pick up some shields for use if the shielder dies. You have decent Shield skill. Like I said for Rangers, do not take shields that another class could use better. Do not try to force others to let you shield "for teh lulz." You are a backup shielder, not the star of the team that can run out there, kill a bunch of Nords outside of experience range, kite back to the shield wall, and then proceed to AFK through the rest of the wave shielding. Like other Pikeman hero classes, this class gains access to Very Heavy Throwing Axes.
Master Peltast
This throwing frenzy class can deal tons of damage quickly. Just be careful to refill often. This class gains access to Very Heavy Throwing Axes, like the other Pikeman hero classes. However, this class is the only class able to use the Rupturer, the most poweful throwing weapon in the game.
Marauder
This is a beautifully fun class. Use this glass cannon to beat the stuffing out of the Nords. Weapons that stab like the Sarissa and weapons that slash like the Sun Pike both gain great deals of speed and damage from this class. Use them. Although you gain access to Very Heavy Throwing Axes and can obviously still use old throwing weapons, I strongly recommend primarily using your polearms.

Support Classes:
Support classes are extremely important in Nord Invasion. I reccomend getting a support class as soon as possible. Everyone dislikes someone who brings in literally no support item like a barricade to help the team.
The Engineers have access to: Small Ammo Crate (Restores ammo 1 use), Normal Barricade, Heavy Barricade, Short Heavy Barricade, Large Ammo Crate (Restores ammo 2 uses), Wall Barricade, Platform, Heavy Platform, Explosive Barrel.
The Medics have access to: Simple Medic Box, Medic Box, Surgeons Kit, Field Surgeons Kit, Master Surgeons Kit, Ressurection Tome.
Each are unique and help the team in every way. If you are a medic, do not just drop your medic kit, use it when you see someone get hurt, why bring in a medic kit if you are just going to drop it?
If you are a barricade bringer, learn to place the barricade correctly, you will mess it up a few times and people might get mad at you, but that is because they are indecent. If someone says "If you don't know how to build barricades, don't build them", reply back with "I brought it in, please allow me to practice how to build barricade propperly with my own barricade".
For more barricade placement training, simply join a deathmatch server and learn to place the barricade and build it propperly, afterward, simply go to spectator and respawn with a new barricade.
The website continued:
Your first page is your character page, this has already been discussed.
Crafting:
When entering crafting, you have 3 different options, Blacksmith, Armoursmith or Alchemist. Blacksmiths make weapons, Armoursmiths make armour, Alchemists make support items. To find fully fledged guides, look here:
Blacksmith: http://forum.nordinvasion.com/index.php?...786.0.html
Armoursmith: http://forum.nordinvasion.com/index.php?...740.0.html
Alchemist: http://forum.nordinvasion.com/index.php?...909.0.html
When you craft something, you gain experience, it works the same as levelling up your character, the higher the level, the more things you can craft.
Marketplace:
You have two sections of the Marketplace, the default Marketplace set up by Nord Invasion, or the Auction Hall. The Auction hall is where players put up their own items for sale in which other players in the mod can purchase at any time. It's fairly simple, the gold value is how much each item and you just put in how many you want to buy and hit buy.
The default marketplace is just for "Marketplace armour" which is the most basic of armours or weapons for that tier.
Quests:
Never really got into quests, but I know a few people do, however quests at the start of the game is very important as it is a great influx of experience and gold. You should completed quests as soon as possible. Simply click accept quests and try to kill the certain Nords that you are supposed to kill.
Houses:
Houses are a big part of Nord Invasion. If you are recognised on a server or you simply apply for a house on the Nord Invasion Forum, you are a part of a group of people who work together. Most houses usually do House Events which are generally done on the weekend. In order to trade between your characters or other members of the community without having the fee of the auction hall, you must both be in the same house.
Messages:
Disregard this, this section is only required if you wish to join a house, otherwise it is arguabbly useless.
Extras:
This is exclusive to Nord Invasion + Owners, basically it just offers you quick links to places you've already seen, such as the forum or the home page.
Account:
In this section, you can view all your characters, change the name of your characters, hide characters you never meant to create, respec your character, refer a friend or change your password.
Name Changing:
When changing the name of your character, make sure, I REPEAT, make sure you do it in the website first, if you do not, you will create a new character in the website which you will have to hide. After you have changed your name in the website, log in game and change your character name there as well. Also never do it in the middle of a game as it will reset your character to a new one.
Hiding characters:
This feature is useful if you mess up the changing your characters name and you have a random character sitting there that you no longer need.
Respec your character:
If you wish to go down a different path (Archer, infantry, skirmisher, crossbowman), you can respec your character at a fee and your class points will be restored and you are able to choose a different class.
NOTE: You will loose all assist xp put into your support class.
NOTE2: You will loose all gold spent on Hero Classes.
Onto the game!
3 Modes of Nord Invasion
General Information about Gameplay:
Nord Invasion is set up in 20 waves. They are as follows:
1) Mixed wave of Nords.
2) Challenge wave, meaning Nords of 1 type generally of higher ranking.
3) Mixed wave of Nords with a few heavier units than the previous mixed wave.
4) Boss wave/Respawn Wave.
Each game type follows this pattern. In all game modes, you spawn on wave 0 (The start of the game), wave 5, 9, 13 and 17 as they are the waves AFTER the boss waves (4/8/12/16).
Normal Mode:
This mode is suited for level 1-32. Although it is neigh impossible to beat Normal Mode without the help of high tier players.
Normal mode has 5 different bosses, here they are:
Wave 4: Followers - Boss - Nord Seargent
Wave 8: Nord Skirmishers - Boss - Nord Captain
Wave 12: Nord Troopers - Boss - Nord Warlord
Wave 16: Nord Veteran Pikeman - Boss - Nord Commander
Wave 20: Royal Huscarls - Boss - Nord Prince
Hard Mode:
This mode is suited for Level 32 + players, although it IS impossible to beat Hard Mode without a few high tier players.
Hard mode has 5 different bosses, here they are:
Wave 4: Royal Vanguard Huscarl - Boss - Royal Vanguard Commander
Wave 8: Royal Assassin - Boss - Royal Torturer
Wave 12: Juggernaut - Boss - Nord Siege Captain
Wave 16: Heavy Huscarls - Boss - Nord War Marshall OR Queen's Guard - Boss - Princess Dortea
Wave 20: Fimbulwinter Warrior - Boss - King Ragnar
Ragnorak Mode:
This mode is suited for level 39 + players, although the community thinks Ragnorak should me 50 + as this allows you to bring in a Short Heavy Barricade - The optimal support item for Ragnorak mode. Ragnorak mode cannot be completed without the use of the best items in the game, such as the ressurection tome.
Ragnorak mode has 5 different bosses - Although, in Ragnorak mode, they are Demi-Gods and the god himself, Odin.
Wave 4: Nord Champion Huscarl - Boss - Heimdallr
Wave 8: Einherjar - Boss - Tyr
Wave 12: Tricksters -Boss - Loke
Wave 16: Thor's Chosen - Boss - Thor
Wave 20: Odin's Chosen - Boss - Odin
Here is a complete guide on all waves: http://forum.nordinvasion.com/index.php?...724.0.html
Deploying Barricades and Shielders:
Please, use common sense when building barricades and preparing the shield wall. If the nords are coming from your left, you shield on the left and place barricades on the right. If nords are coming from your right, place cades on the left and shield on the right, is any more explination needed?
More in depth Guide: http://forum.nordinvasion.com/index.php?...712.0.html
The Tab Screen:
Press Tab, look on the right side of the screen. If it say's 1 dead, it means there are 2 nords alive (3 agents - 1 dead agent = 2 alive). If it say's 2 dead, it means 1 nord is alive (3 agents - 2 dead agents = 1 alive).
More in depth: http://forum.nordinvasion.com/index.php?...712.0.html
Basic Commands among the Nord Invasion Community:
Saving Last:
This means don't kill the last nord alive, so you can prepare for the next wave, in order to save a nord, just stand in front of it and block it using auto - block (Just spam right click if you cant time it correctly or have high ping).
"R"
If people ask if you are ready they generally say "R?", you either reply with y/n (Yes no) or a simple "R".
"H"
Means heal the guy saying "H".
Target Prioritising:
In Normal mode, ranged should focus on Fionn-Mc-Cumhails -> Nord Berserkers -> Ranged
In Hard mode, ranged should focus on the Nord Priests -> Mercenary Ballistamen
In Ragnorak Mode, ranged should focus on the Nord Priests -> Dveigar Ballistamen
Friendly Nord:
This happens when the Nord swaps between a barricade and a player and gets stuck on which to attack, when this happens, the nord will simply walk up to the player it is intending to kill but not actually attack. This is a friendly nord and should not be killed. At all costs, keep this nord away from Barrels and Barricades/Platforms etc as it will swap targets to it and become un-friendly.

Damn, Slayer, some excellent work here. Very well organised, looks fabulous!
One thing you could consider adding to make it easier to find a specific part of the guide is anchors. If you don't know how to use em, Click has used them in his recent medic guide, and so have I in the item's thread.
I was never here, you saw nothing...
Motivational tip: When you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and say confidently, "That's a nice head you have on your shoulders."
