I'm not entirely sure hmm.. I'm pretty sure it was a Dev weapon you use to see ingame like 10-12 years ago my memory isn't great because I only saw it a few times in game? It was like something like a 10% damage bonus use to have red particles like healing I think maybe?
it's called the Champion's Standard, wasn't a dev item, but the reward for the last (2nd) house tournament (iirc). if it still exists, it's in the hands of FSA, but they're long gone, so the banner is too. yes, it buffed the damage and yes it had red particles.

I mean, the problem is that the class is too passive, so giving it a passive ability might not be a good idea.

the problem with that: slashing is already pretty op. I think people just don't realize how much damage a BH stinger really deals. but buffing melee means buffing everything melee, which includes pride, legacy and ironsong. further buffing those already way too strong items makes the power creep even worse.
Would be a shame to put a single Durendal as a loot history...
