It wont it you do it right. Make the trees larger, closer to the ground on the front and higher off the ground on the back, creating an illusion of grandness. The players wont be seeing the bottom parts of the back trees because of the size of the ones in front.

You could always use more hilly terrain,
a good mountain or two would not only look nice, but remove a good chunk of trees (fore and background
