On Senni's advice, I've given myself a crashcourse in modeling, and so far, I've made myself a couple of weapons. Also, a warning: although I like to tell myself my modelling is pretty decent, I absolutely suck at texturing, so don't expect too much from that!
Anyway, here are some of my works so far:
Screenies:
I've sort of tried to make it a hand-and-a-half sword, not sure if the handle and blade are properly proportioned, but hell
If you see any points to correct me at (and I'm sure there are many of those), please let me know!
Update 1:
On the commenter's advices, I've made the blade a bit longer, added a small incertion in the blade, and made myself a very fancy pommel
Pictures:
Update 2:
Alright then, thanks to Hairth and Senni I've got to adding hard edges, so this is the new model (also with a slightly modified handle and pommel)
I'm gonna take a look at the UV-mapping and texturing now, you will hear from me again when/if I survive that!
Update 3:
My first time texturing and UV-mapping is done! The textures are kinda rubbish so far, but hell
I still have to take a look at 'mapping', whatever that may be xD
And I understand that these textures probably aren't the best, but I'll see how good I can get 'em.
For example, the sapphire pommel is rather rubbish, so I'll be making one myself some day soon
I've, as everyone else it seems, started working on a modernish bolt, as my months-old promise to Senni was.
I have absolutely no idea how to create a bolt-bag, I hope someone can tell me!
Anyway, screenie:

As you can see, it's pretty basic, but I kinda like it (even the texture! :o)
Quick model I made a while back after reading a discussion about caltropses (caltropse? dunno) in NI. No texture, or anything, just a model.
Felt like doing some modeling again, and here is the result of 30 mins work! A low poly and untextured throwing knife!

If you feel like making a nice texture for this, let me know. I hate texturing, and I suck at it, so if anyone else feels inspiration after seeing this, contact me, and I'll send you what you need.
In no one wants to, I'll just do it myself, no probs!
On a request by Legend earlier tonight, I've decided to publish some arrows I've been working on for a while. It might fill in the slot for legendary arrows, if the devs see it fit.
Anyway, here's some screenies of em:
As you can see, the arrows and it's quiver are quite a lot bigger than most other arrows. This servers a prupose, however; The arrows are larger than the length given to them by the game, and therefore the game registers the arrows from about 1/3rd down it's length. This means, that arrows stick a lot deeper in your enemies, sometimes even going through and through.
To show you this, I have asked some volunteers from a Swadian Village (perfectly safe, all of this) to demonstrate this effect:
No harm was done to innocent villagers in any way during the capturing of the pictures. These chumps were just a bunch of jerks, nothing to worry you fine little head about.
I hope you guys like this extra thingie added to the arrow, I certainly do!
Right, after a break of 2 months, it's time for some moar modeling! I've tweaked the Black Arrows a bit, both the arrows and the quiver, so those should look quite a bit better now. I've got some screenies from in Wings, but not in game yet, because for some reason, Wings and Openbrf don't love eachother, and won't let me add a quiver animation. ._.
Anyway, screenies!

- Rotated the outer feathers, so they aren't so close together.
- Rounded of the blades of the arrow
- Increased the face-count over the length of the arrow (10 faces instead of 5), so that it looks more round than pentagonal
- Rounded of the butt of the quiver
- Made a new wood texture for the quiver
- Made the metal parts of the quiver wider than the wooden part
- Made the metal parts look more like actual metal, instead of just grey paint
Thanks!

Looks really nice for your first attempt, only thing I would say is perhaps try making the handle a little shorter?

Not bad, not bad.
Better than I did on my first try. I hope you model more and better!
Although, I suggest either make the handle shorter or the blade longer. Also, before you start making more, I suggest making more than swords. If you only make swords, you won't know how to make any other weapon and fall into and endless loop of making swords. Only swords. It's horrible.
A spear. An axe. Halberd. Something else. Dear god.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys
My aim is to continue working on this sword to recreate one I read about (the sword Brisingr from the Inheritance cycle. I'm trying to make a fancy pommel now, with a sort of claw holding a gem. I'll make the blade a bit longer as well, and put up another screenie

Why don't you add some hard edges?

Wow.
For a first attempt, thats a damn good looking sword.
Also wings looks very similar to blender
EDIT: on the fancy hilt, the black bits are the smoothing groups trying to make something flat look round. You'll want to mark out all the hard edges it didn't auto catch.
Nothing is impossible, it's just a matter of determination and probability.

Thanks, I'm quite proud of it ^^
And yeah, I didn't add any hard edges. At all. Had no idea what they did. xD
Which edges would I want to make hard (god, that sounds wrong)?
Also, Senni, once I'm done with this one, I'll get to making some new bolts

I really like the curve of the hilt (?). That's what does the blade for me! Nice first attempt I have to say, although I have little knowledge of these things.
