Dear Nord Invasion Community,
In preparation for the 0.5.0 release we have found it necessary to release a new client for download. This will hopefully be the last client that you will need to download before the automatic updater is completed. This patch will be introducing some new items and features but is mostly a cleanup of NordInvasion in preparation for our upcoming big release.
I would also like to take the opportunity to remind players to be polite to each other. Remember that you never know who that redshirt you're swearing at... it could be me! At the same time, please don't make a report thread every time you see something a little annoying!!
As a result of our lovely Swadians being all unfriendly to each other, the Norse Gods have decided to punish you for bickering so much. The have sent an old friend from the underworld to silence your voices for ever... Who will meet him first...?
Onto the cheerful stuff;
- Made the Prince a bit easier to kill
- Buffed Fearsome Knight Helmet
- Rebalanced hard mode a bit
- Fixed Barrel Collission Meshes
- Fixed Volundr Texture
- Fixed Claymore... hopefully for the last time
- New craftable throwing weapons
- Added other new items, shields helmets etc
- Fixed Aiming reticle
- New map - Hande's Retreat
- New map - Hyper's Hell, Release after patch
- Two new empty map test slots
- Few map fixes & Updates
- Some new scene props for scene makers
- Ammo Box, Explosive barrel & Barricade props are now a bit smaller
- Xmas stuff is now removed & Snowballs are replaced with some fun throwing weapons
- Updated banners
- A few surprises to be found in Hard Mode now...
- Moar Rangers..
We hope that this makes the game a bit more interesting and we look forward to playing with you.
As always, get the patch here
Love,
The Devs
If you want to fix "white" sword bug, please download this file.
Copy & Paste it to Resource folder.

Dear NordInvasion Community,
As we mentioned in the previous patch notes, we are presently working on the 0.5.0 patch release. This release will be a huge effort, probably the biggest since the beginning of the game and will bring major changes and many new features. Due to this, we may be a bit slow on the patch front whilst we work our backsides off building the release.
Unlike previous patches this one will come in a series of phases with only one requiring a new client download. We wanted you to be notified of this because as the patch rolls through you will see each of these big changes being introduced, in turn, and with their own individual announcement.
Thanks to the rebalance taken care of by the 0.4.0 patch, players will have room to expand and we have every intention of providing them with new and interesting challenges.
Along with this, naturally new maps will be added as Hande is always hard at work making new and interesting ways to kill players.
Love,
The NI Dev Team
New Major Features
[anchor=WI]The Website and Interface Back to the top.
Overhaul of the NordInvasion website, inlcuding:- New Equipment Selection system
- Redesign of the website look and feel
- Addition of "Quick Links", giving you quick access to other pages that relate to the one you are working on
- Sticky Stats - See your character statistics on every page
The NordInvasion website is starting to look a little big 'weathered'. As a result the web site development team is working to create a new interface for players to use. This new site, will not require any client download and has already begun to be released; in the form of security updates and interaction changes. Although we obviously don't discuss security changes widely, the team has been hard at work.
Concurrent with this, they have also been developing a new platform which has been completely redesigned so that the old, haphazard interface, which was made for a game nowhere near as large as NordInvasion, can be replaced. The work done to create the old website will be mostly retained as Jez did a fantastic job putting it together in the first place. However, it is time for a bit of change. This change will streamline the user interface, add functionality and make it more attractive.
[anchor=RK]Ragnarok Mode Back to the top.
To introduce a challenge for the already established house/players while still allowing for reasonably sane progression for newer players, the current hard mode will be renamed "Ragnarok Mode", and a third mode will take its place in allowing progression between level 32-52 with barebones equipment, and 52 with reasonably high end craftable equipment. This new middle difficulty will hopefully give the middle ranked houses and players a more even progression.
You might have noticed the sheer difficulty of hard mode at the moment, this occurred so that we could begin the slow transformation of NI into a three stage difficulty. No doubt this mode will continue to be refined through the constant efforts of the dev team and new challenges will be developed. We do hope now that some level of understanding will occur as to why we made the present hard mode so difficult.
The theme of the third mode will be that it is King Ragnar's army, is out to seek vengeance for the Nord Prince's death. The difficulty will range, approximately, from the Nord Commander wave in wave one to slightly above the old Thor wave for King Ragnar. We hope players will embrace this new challenge and enjoy the work we are doing.
As for Ragnarok Mode, we've already unveiled some of the changes that were originally planned for it (Multi-projectile weapons, Explosive Mjolnir, increase in overall difficulty, adding crushthrough, etc), but the general change is that the enemies encountered are no longer ordinary "Nords", and are as strong as one would expect immortal gods to be, (with some aspects seeming like blatant cheating) with the intention being that only the most organized, well equipped, and lucky players will be able to defeat them.
If server space is restricted, we can reserve Ragnarok Mode specifically for house events and/or official events, which will lend them greater importance than simply playing with whom you wish. We are however, endeavouring to create more server space, so this mode can be played whenever you want.
[anchor=CL]Hero Classes Back to the top.
These classes will take all of the class points that you accumulate between levels 39 to 52. As a result, you will forgo being a hybrid in exchange for a very powerful specialisation. The stats of these classes have been designed so that you get the most if not all of the hybrid benefits plus extra. These characters will be very powerful and some of these classes will be assigned special weapons, items and armours in the 0.5.0 release and later on.
Commando:
Zwei-hander - Commando specialises in two-handed weapons.
Royal Guard - Commando specialises in shielding.
Duelist - Commando specialises in one-handed weapons.
Sharpshooter:
Chosen Marksman - Sharpshooter specialises in crossbows.
Aventurier- Sharpshooter specialises in one-handed weapons.
Pavise Champion - Sharpshooter specialises in shielding.
Skirmisher:
Halberdier - Skirmisher can wear heavier armours and fights with a bonus to polearms.
Master Peltast - Skirmisher specialises in throwing weapons.
Marauder - Skirmisher gets a bonus to power strike.
Sniper:
Warden - Sniper gets a bonus to archery proficiency.
Ranger - Sniper gets a bonus to iron flesh.
Sentinel - Sniper gets a proficiency bonus to one-handed weapons and power strike.
[anchor=AU]The Auto-Update Back to the top.
We would like to introduce the NI Launcher - the purpose of which is to compare the latest online version of NI with the local files and then download any new files if required.
Using this new auto-updater, quick changes and hot-fixes will be come a great deal easier. We intend to develop for Windows first and then develop an Mac version. Of course, those who wish to remain using the old system will always be able to download the latest client from our server. This will hopefully improve the patching process and make everyone's lives a bit easier.

We would like to remind all house captains that there is a new arrangement for requesting House Events. We have put [UK]_The_Irish_Eagle in charge of organising House Events, so please PM him to request one.
It is recommended that you all read the House Event rules again as they have been updated - http://forum.nordinvasion.com/index.php?...123.0.html
At the same time we would like to congratulate and thank [UK]_The_Irish_Eagle for taking on this task.

Donating via PaySafeCard |

Currently we only accept donations through PayPal although a number of users have asked about accepting PaySafeCards. Unfortunately they will only work with full commercial entities and solutions such as IcePay would require a larger outlay per month than donations actually bring in.
As such, we regret that until someone creates a payment solution we can utilise without monthly costs or PayPal accepts PaySafeCards we are unable to accept donations in this particular manner.
We are also aware of websites that offer to trade e-currencies such as PaySafeCards to PayPal credit at a small fee. We would urge caution around these sites as whilst some are legitimate businesses and work well there are others out there that are not and it is often difficult to tell until too late. Use is at your own risk and do your homework on them first.
If you know of something we have overlooked then please get in touch but for now we can only accept PayPal.
Love,
The NI Family

Dear Nordinvasion Community,
After many hours of slaving away, we are delighted to bring you a fairly meaty patch! We appreciate that this one is a bit bigger than normal but hopefully you'll understand why soon
If you downloaded the patch before 1am GMT on Jan 30th then Please also download this hotfix!!
Advice on Downloading Patch
It has been brought to our attention that regional servers are now hosting some of our patches. Unfortunately, some of these servers are inconsistent when it comes to making sure they have the latest version on their server. It is therefor best, that you download the patch through us and save yourself from the potential headache.
Hard Mode Changes:
In order to make NordInvasion more of a challenge for players a rebalance of the difficulty has occurred. In hard mode, a general 20% increase in difficulty has occurred in what is essentially a complete rebuild of the mode.
The difficulty has also been scaled. What would have been the difficulty of Odin, is now the difficulty of Thor. Meaning that the difficulty of Odin has increased substantially. Concurrent with this (and we don't normally give you hints about this), the legendary items that would have dropped on Odin, now drop on Thor, and new legendary items now sit at the final boss. This will preserve the opportunities for new players to get the same gear as the older ones, whilst giving everyone something new to aim for.
Normal Mode Changes:
- Prince Buffed.
- Nord Repeaterman donator enemy Introduced.
- Zweihanders will now bring more hurt, its high time people were afraid of them again.
- Fionn mac Cumhaill donator enemy fixed.
- And many more...
Items
We have introduced the second batch of items for House Crafting. These items are very powerful and each class has received something. They will be placed into the crafting options in the period after release.
A special thanks goes out to Ryu for his models, many of which have made it into this patch. You are a major asset to our community.
As mentioned previously, we have added many new high end legendary items for players of all classes to work for. Some of the new items are very expensive and will give players something very special to work towards; much like transitional was when it was first introduced.
Changes and Additions
We have also made several changes to existing items. This list is not exhaustive. All classes have gotten something very high end.
- The Fell Edge has been buffed.
- The Dreaded Warpick has been slightly buffed.
- Eastern Katana buffed.
- Tower Shield added.
- New glaive weapons.
- Hurricane Bow slightly buffed.
- New mesh for Explosive Barrel, Construction Site & Construction Spawn.
- Fiendish Bow has been slightly buffed.
- Two new bows.
- A new two-handed killing machine.
- New high end body armours for Snipers, Crossbowmen, Commandos and Pikemen!
- Three new high-end helmets for Crossbowmen.
- A new set of armour for commando, the Defender Armour.
- A full set of new Royal Scale Armour for Snipers.
- Heraldic Transitional Armour.
- New Crafting Materials.
- Moar rangers!!
- And so much more....
Drops
The new craftable materials that you will need to make the very best items in game now drop from waves which are prone to being barrelled by the community. As a disincentive to do so, we are building in a need to fight these enemies.
There are new legendaries that drop on Odin and legendaries that previously dropped on Odin now drop on Thor.
Website
We continue to upgrade the website, adding in new security features to fix exploits. This effort continues. We will continue to make changes in the period after release. Very soon there will be no more spying on crafting recipes that you do not have the required level to craft.
Administration Changes
As part of our major efforts to work on the website, we have added another developer to the NordInvasion team. Please welcome Naozumi to the community, he will be taking on the role of a second web developer and is a professional systems admin by day.
In the last week Sphinx has stepped up to take on the role of regional admin for North America, we wish him the best of luck.
Also in the last week, Gashy, Kip and Winter-bolt have been promoted to Game Admins for the North America region.
Server News
Due to the major influx of new players into the NordInvasion Community we are planning and budgeting to make sure that we can meet the increased demand. While it is obviously NEVER required to donate, your donations really do help and allow us expand and move forward with NordInvasion. All donations are appreciated so much.
Towards this aim we are rolling out increased server space very soon for the AU community..
[u]Coming Soon: A New Note about the Future
This patch will expand the game quite substantially and the content included within is quite a bit larger than with previous patches. However, this patch is the first part of our preparation for the 0.5.0 patch release. The 0.5.0 patch will be the largest release we will be rolling out since the the beginning of NI. It is our intention to fundamentally improve NI and give players more things to do. We are keeping our plans a secret for now but a new note about the future will be released, giving you guys a chance to see and comment on where we are going.
Love,
The NI Family
