  Downtime - Friday 30th

Hi all,

We will be doing some major server side work on early Friday morning that will result in some downtime for the website services and may result in lack of updating of any xp and items etc normally gained by playing the game. There may also be periods of increased pings as the work is completed. This should only last around 1 hour but be aware that some issues may last until 12 at the latest.

Whilst we understand that major work like this is often unpopular, we can assure you that this will bring many new improvements to the way the site runs and many more improvements in future which are dependant on these changes.

Downtime planned for 10AM GMT - 11AM GMT

Hoy NordInvasion. It is time for Scene Contest IV!

Idea for this Scene Contest is same as before: Make a scene in two weeks and we will test it in public.
When your map is ready, send map file, map name and scene code to me. (Private Message)
It is possible to test your map before sending it to me but you need to do this alone and in locked NI server.

Important Rules:
- You can submit only one map.
- Map belongs to you. ( Using someone else map can lead to disqualification )
- Working AI mesh & Glitch & Bug free.
- You need to use NI support scene props, like heal, refill etc.. ( Check mod support items from this thread http://forum.nordinvasion.com/index.php?...msg16365 )
- Must fit the theme (no arabic/desert maps).
- No small rooms & easy grinding places.
- No screenshot leaks to public or to your friends. (Can lead to disqualification)
- Name your map when you are sending it.
- There will be only 15 minutes of public testing time for each map.
- Do not tell the name of the author ingame. (If you know whose map it is)
- Judges give points to your map. The winner is who has the most points.

Points will be awarded for:
- Overall quality of the map.
- Number of details. ( Too many can be FPS killer )
- Creativity.
- Size of the map.

Rewards:
1st place: Your map to mod (New Patch), 800k Gold & Mystery Materials
2nd place: 350k Gold & Mystery Materials
3rd place: 100k Gold & Mystery Materials

Note: If your map don't win this contest, it doesn't mean your map can never be in this mod.

  Happy birthday!

Good afternoon beautiful people,

Not many people know but it was NordInvasion's 2nd birthday on Monday 19th of this week! Oddly enough it coincided with us getting 1000 likes on facebook! To celebrate these momentous moments, we will running a x2 on xp and gold all weekend until Monday night 26th. I will also be regularly playing around with drop rates and loot so there is always a chance that you can find some extra goodies where you least expect...

Two years ago one of Jez's friends told Jez that he could not make a mod for Warband. Jez in a fit of rage mashed out NI to say to his friend "chew on this sucka" and NI was born... For some reason NI turned out to be hugely popular and Jez found he had friends to play with. NI has grown from there and somehow we still seem to be bumbling along!

I want to say a big thank you to everyone in the community, our donators, all those who have contributed to NI over the past two years and our developers who have passed on to the great internet graveyard in the sky.

Your continued support means so much to us and I am happy to say that we have something HUGE in the pipes just now... A patch is not too far off in the future that we are happy to say will blow your mind...

In the meantime however, please enjoy the double rewards and I hope you have great success in finding some additional goodies!

  House Events - Rule Update

Hello everyone,

There has been an update to the house event rules.  House events now need a minimum of five members from the host house.  Events that drop below this requirement will be opened without a password so that the round can be finished.

Because this might make things difficult for some of the smaller houses, two houses can become allies for an event so that their combined members meet the requirement.  An "allied event" will count as one of the two weekly events allotted to each of the two houses.

In addition to this rule change, the application form has been shortened slightly to make applying for events a bit simpler.

  Polearms updated

The following polearms have been updated to have two modes, just press X ingame with them equipped:

Thunder Pike
Sun Pike
Pike of Kings
Dragon Spear
Snake Spear

This change is retroactive, all old versions of the weapons have been replaced with new ones on the website.

It may take some time for the correct stats to be shown.

Dear NI Community, it's time for another patch. This release brings better ranged ai behavior, new items (including support!), a new attack animation for polearms, and more enjoyable gameplay as free roaming melee in normal and hard.

If you are having issues with connecting to our servers, please install the 1.153 warband client in a separate folder, or paste the files over your steam warband files and turn automatic updates off.

New Major Features
  • Overhead stab-type polearms that are around 200 length or less can be used with shields, and they now have a much more friendly fire compatible one-handed overhead stab in addition to the old down direction stab. Animation generously given by Cifre.
  • Two extremely high tier engineer items, Master Weaponsmith's Anvil, and the Master Shieldsmith's Anvil. The weapon anvil improves weapons to masterwork quality, while the shield anvil improves shields to reinforced quality. Please note that while they do change the quality of deployables and/or health kits, they do not actually improve their effects/scene props, and that they will take every weapon/shield you have equipped of the same type, so drop your extra weapons/shields before attempting to smith.
  • Three new types of barricade type items, platform, heavy platform, and wall barricade.
  • Model Contest Items
  • Nord archers and throwers will attempt to aim and shoot at players, even when they aren't in line of sight or in range as a workaround for players easily picking bots off with peek shots and stuckage issues, as bots will rush when they run out of ammo. Nord archer ammo count decreased. Nord thrower ammo count increased slightly. Single shot crossbowmen behave normally.
  • Descriptions added to some items ingame, mostly support items
  • A mysterious new support item for the house tournament champions, item will get passed on to the next winner





Major Balance Changes
  • Bots will damage cades when they attempt to swing at them in addition to whenever they hit them. However, barricade health has been raised somewhat, and bots will prioritize players in range, meaning a shieldwall will drastically extend the life of any barricades nearby.
  • Einherjar Rangers toned down a lot, but later Ragnarok waves made tougher
  • Hard mode difficulty increased on the later waves
  • All bosses now have multipliers on their hitpoints, with multipliers getting higher on later waves.
  • Most non-bosses have had their armor decreased, but have added HP multipliers if they are meant to be tough, and as a result, cut weapons will be more effective than they have been before.
  • Bots with certain weaknesses that border on exploits have been adjusted.
  • Crushthrough weapons on bots mostly replaced with shields and bonus vs shield weapons as a response to ranged kiting/shc metagaming
  • Much higher damage flinch threshold for more fun gameplay as melee in normal/hard (1 -> 10, if you want a general idea of how much damage this means, base recruit health = 43, royal guard health = 89)
  • All crossbows damage as if their target had 20% less armor

  • Onehanded stabs for one-handed weapons and polearms have been reverted to native animations.
  • Fists give exp, and the last throwing weapon in a stack will give exp, but it is melee due to module system limitations.
  • Big shot buffed to knock down or stop movement on hit
  • Many minor item stat adjustments
  • Nord Ranger WPF buffed due to odd behavior with low WPF
  • New maps
  • Moar rangers

ALL NI SERVERS SHOULD NOW BE RUNNING WARBAND 1.158. To be safe and avoid problems, we recommend you simply auto-update Warband from Steam or carry out a clean download from Taleworlds.
